Yolngu Dance

From north-east Arnhem Land, Yolngu Dance Theatre is an exciting troupe of young people aged between 16 and 25 who perform traditional indigenous dance. Under the direction of Witiyana Marika (traditional leader from Yothu Yindi) and Banula Marika (dancer with Bangarra and Yothu Yindi), these young people from the Yirrkala region began dancing at a very early age - some have been dancing for more than 12 years.
